How-To: Create a Project

Create a project:

A Project is a specific, ongoing effort or initiative. It represents a focused body of work with a clear purpose, whether it’s being carried out by an organization or an individual leader. Organizations can use a Project Page as their primary landing page, while community leaders can use it to showcase their work. This is where you’ll bring your work to life on the platform and invite others to take part.

Follow the steps below to create your Project. You can also watch a short tutorial for a step-by-step walkthrough, or explore additional guidance and resources here.

1. Navigate to create

In the top right-hand corner of the home page, click on the 'Create' button to start a project.

2. Select 'Create a project'

Click the 'Create a project' section to build a space for your cause and bridge people together.

3. Input project details

Enter the following:

• project name
• a brief description describing your project’s mission and goals
• an image of the project
• the project's location or where it will operate
• Select Continue to go to the next page

*If you are an organization, the project name will be your organization’s name. For example: Habitat for Humanity Atlanta

*If you’re working as an individual, use this project page to clearly describe a specific initiative you’re leading or actively developing.

4. Apply tags

Select the appropriate tags relevant to your project from the preset categories.

5. Add links to your project

To maximize visibility and engagement, add links to all relevant touchpoints such as social media profiles, your website, and other related pages.

6. Preview your project

Take a moment to review your Project page and make sure everything looks right before publishing. Verify that all the details submitted are accurate.

7. Submit your project

Submit your project for review. After you click submit, you'll receive an email update once your project has been reviewed and approved by our Be The People Admin team.
