Overview:
We are a nonprofit organization building a Volunteer Management System from the ground up.
The platform consists of:
• React Admin Portal (web)
• React Native Mobile App (iOS/Android)
• Salesforce APIs
• Node APIs
We are looking for a mid-level or above Full Stack Engineer to take a lead technical role
across the integration and backend layers of this system. You will work alongside frontend,
mobile, and Salesforce developers to help deliver a reliable, secure, and scalable
platform used by approximately 2,000 volunteers annually.
This is a volunteer role with meaningful ownership and real-world impact for a nonprofit
mission.

• REST API layer connecting the React web portal, React Native mobile app, and Salesforce
• Role-based access control (Admin vs. Volunteer)
• Mobile app deployment via App Store and Google Play
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of the REST API layer connecting the React web admin portal, React Native mobile app, and Salesforce backend.
- Own authentication middleware including OAuth 2.0 flows, JWT issuance, refresh token handling, and session expiration logic.
- Build, document, and maintain REST API endpoints for volunteer profiles, shift management, announcements, and reporting.
- Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) across Admin and Volunteer permission levels.
- Implement secure coding practices including input validation, sanitization, and protection against XSS, CSRF, and injection attacks.
- Own deployment pipelines, environment separation (dev, staging, production), and version control workflows.
- Collaborate with the Salesforce developer on data model alignment and API contracts.
- Maintain logging, error handling, and general production reliability.
- Contribute to technical documentation and architecture decisions.
- Work directly on the React web admin portal — building and maintaining features, components, and workflows alongside the frontend team.
