Volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Offering companionship through conversation, reading, music, games, or quiet presence
- Providing emotional support and a friendly, comforting presence
- Giving caregivers brief companionship relief by visiting with patients
- Assisting with approved errands or nonmedical tasks
- Supporting office projects, community outreach, and special events
- Sharing approved talents such as music, art, Reiki, massage, or pet therapy when properly trained, certified, or licensed
- Completing visit documentation and communicating concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator

Details
Volunteers must complete an application, interview, orientation, and required training before receiving an assignment. Depending on the volunteer role, additional screening, certification, or documentation may be required.
Scheduling is flexible and based on the volunteer’s availability and the needs of our patients. Volunteers do not provide medical care, administer medication, lift or transfer patients, or perform tasks assigned to licensed hospice staff.
