Role Overview:
The House of Spain is seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as Co-Treasurer on our Board of Directors. This individual will assist the Treasurer in managing the organization’s finances, work closely with our independent contractor Bookkeeper, and assume the Treasurer role during absences, vacations, or when the Treasurer’s term ends.

- Support the Treasurer in overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance
- Collaborate with the independent contractor Bookkeeper to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely reporting
- Review and approve financial statements and transactions
- Ensure adherence to nonprofit financial best practices
- Step in as acting Treasurer when needed
- Work with the Board to maintain transparency and fiscal responsibility
Qualifications:
- Experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping (nonprofit experience preferred)
- Familiarity with financial reporting and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Treasurer, Bookkeeper, and Board members
- Commitment to the mission and cultural heritage of the House of Spain
