On June 13, we joined a sold-out crowd of about 60,000 country music fans at Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, Ohio, for a weekend that mixed live music with community action. Held inside Ohio State University's Ohio Stadium, known to locals as "The Shoe," the festival has become one of the Midwest's premier summer traditions. Fans packed the venue from the first set to the final encore, taking in a lineup of country, roots, and Americana artists headlined by Tyler Childers, alongside The Red Clay Strays, Sierra Ferrell, Lord Huron, Flatland Cavalry, and Kaitlin Butts.

The music started hours before the stadium doors opened for Superfest, and when the free Official Tailgate Fan Fest began across from the Ohio Stadium, William Matheny, Annie Bosko, Willi Carlisle, and Noah Rinker played to a growing crowd right alongside the Be The People-hosted Join Fair.

While the performances provided the soundtrack, Be The People’s Join Fair engaged local organizations with hundreds of attendees throughout the day to help people find a cause they care about and take a first step towards getting involved.

As fans enjoyed pre-show festivities, the Be The People booth welcomed attendees to:

  • Drop in for live art.
  • Take pics with creative backdrops.
  • Sign up for giveaways.
  • Connect with regional organizations such as:

Blue Star Families — stands beside those who choose military life and empowers the communities around them to do their part. Our Do Your Part Initiative is changing the way America supports its military, uniting military families, everyday Americans, organizations, businesses, and schools to connect neighbors, solve problems, and build stronger communities for all. Together, we strengthen military families and build thriving communities of mutual support.

Made By Us — is a national civic initiative that puts young adults at the center of how America's story is told. Through a network of 500+ museums, historic sites, libraries, and archives — and programs like Civic Season (Juneteenth through July 4th) and Youth250 — we connect the next generation with credible, timely U.S. history to shape the future.

Right to Start — is a national, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit working across state and local systems to drive civic action and policy reform to remove barriers to entrepreneurial opportunity. Our vision is a world where everyone can realize their fundamental right to entrepreneurial opportunity.

Adding another local touch to the Join Fair was a live mural by Columbus-based art space Lookout Supply. As the artwork took shape throughout the day, festivalgoers gathered to watch, take photos, and connect with one another before heading into Ohio Stadium. The installation became more than just a backdrop—it reflected the same spirit of creativity, collaboration, and community that Be The People hoped to inspire at every festival stop.
