Be The People 2026 Festival Tour — Outside Lands
For three days, Golden Gate Park was filled with music, art, and plenty of food, as Outside Lands returned for another weekend in San Francisco. The lineup stretched across genres, with performances from Charli xcx, The Strokes, Rufus du Sol, The xx, Turnstile, Wet Leg, Tinashe, Djo, Lucy Dacus, Mariah the Scientist, Labrinth, Sierra Ferrell, GloRilla and more. From packed headline sets to smaller, more intimate performances, including a surprise set by by Leon Bridges and other experiences throughout the park, there was plenty happening beyond the stage.
From August 7–9, Be The People joined the weekend at the Polo Field with a space designed to bring community impact into the festival experience. Festivalgoers could stop by to create, connect with community organizations, and discover ways to get involved beyond the festival. Throughout the weekend, we had the chance to connect with thousands of people, each bringing their own ideas about how they could make an impact in their communities.
Creating, Connecting and Making a Pledge
At the center of the activation was our Pledge Wall, where festivalgoers were invited to think about how they wanted to show up for their communities. Guests took a photo, wrote their pledge directly on the print, and added it to the wall. By the end of the weekend, the wall had grown into a collection of individual commitments from people across the festival.
Featured artists Scienceism and Joseph Lopez brought another creative element to the activation, a custom Be The People graffiti mural while creators Sara Naini and Mario Rivierahelped share the experience with their audiences.
Meet Our Impact Partners
The weekend wasn't only about what people could experience at the booth. It was also an opportunity to introduce them to organizations creating ways to get involved beyond Outside Lands.
Youth Art Exchange (YAX) is a San Francisco-based community arts organization and creative hub that has provided free, high-quality arts programming for public high school students for more than 25 years. Today, its two locations serve youth, artists, and neighbors across the city, expanding access to creative spaces while keeping youth leadership at the center of its work. Get Involved
GivingTuesday showed festivalgoers another side of community involvement. What began in 2012 as a single day encouraging people to do good has grown into a global generosity movement that inspires people to give back year-round through volunteering, donating, raising awareness, sharing their skills, and more. Together, the two organizations gave festivalgoers different ways to think about what contributing to their community can look like.
Beyond the Weekend
Our Pledge Wall asked one simple question: How will you show up for your community? By the end of the weekend, it was filled with answers from people ready to give their time, skills, creativity, and support to something they care about.
But the real impact comes from what happens next.
Our impact partners, GivingTuesday and Youth Art Exchange, showed festivalgoers how easily an idea or intention can turn into something meaningful once you take the first step. And you don’t have to wait for the next festival to take it.
